    Four organizations providing law resources for women For women, finding legal resources that can cater to their specific needs is crucial. According to the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund, women face poverty and pay inequality at much higher rates than men, making engaging with the legal system financially challenging, especially for single, low-income women. Even when women can afford legal assistance, the matters they face are typically unique to their gender.     Ontario organizations helping to lift women out of poverty

    Close to two million women and girls in Canada live in poverty.  Women are more likely than men to experience poverty, according to the Canadian Women’s Foundation. Workplace discrimination, lack of affordable childcare and unpaid labour all contribute to women’s poverty. Single mothers, marginalized, disabled, and newcomer women also struggle to find employment in Ontario, according to a government report. These organizations provide women with housing and employment opportunities.  Housing  Housing is one of the essential factors for safety, survival and protection.     Women in the technology sector are encouraging the next generation to rethink what’s possible in tech.  A 2019 SAP Canada study found that women in tech felt the industry’s negative reputation was “still a reality.” Forty-three per cent of respondents reported they “don’t believe tech companies want to hire women.” The study also found 48 per cent of women don’t know how to develop the required skills for a tech career.     Skilled trades tend to be considered a male-oriented field, but the province of Ontario has a number of programs designed to encourage women to work in the sector. Working in trades is often perceived as “a man’s job” or a career path not suitable or geared towards women.  This has led to less women going into the field or considering it as a career option.
